In a timely message for me, pastor Pete Wilson whom I have followed for 3 years on twitter was gust pastor for Rick Warren today at Saddleback Church, his message hit me right where I am at, but more on his message in another post. Pete ask two questions one at the start “What would your life look like if you had absolute confidence that God was with you?” the other at the end “What would you do in your situation if you know for a fact God is with you?”. I will answer the first in this post the second in a later post as it is so timely for me see yesterdays post.

What would my life look like if I had absolute confidence, knew that God was with me?

.
* I would live a life like George Muller, be a man of great faith, of prayer, a preacher of the gospel to the nations, have 50,000 answered prayers by my last day of life, rescue the poor and needy.
* I would have a life like Jaeson Ma, would travel the world preaching the gospel, and plant churches here and in other countries.
* I would be a prayer warrior because I would Know that my prayers would be answered.
* Wake up every morning knowing I was loved and excepted, and had a purpose.
* Preach the gospel daily with power, go into other countries and preach it.
* The world would be my mission field.
* I would fed the hungry in impoverished nations, every where I could.
* I would fed 5,000 hungry people at one time like Jesus did at one time.
* Live out Matt 25:31-46, do unto Jesus by, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick, setting free the captive.
* Lead a soul a day mim to the Lord ( for as many days as I have been alive would be 20,254 so far).
* Rescue woman and children out of human trafficking.

* Do, live out every phase of the great commission, Jesus’ commandments, as a way of life, daily:

Matt 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe
all that I have commanded you.

Matt 10:7-8

And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons.

* Live out Jesus’ own mission, as a way of life: Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because He has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at set free those who are oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Acts 1:8

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

* Live out Jesus’ promise that we will do these and greater things. Jn 14:12 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;,,,,,”

That is how I would live, if I could live the life I want, dream of having and had absolute confidence that God was with me.

As it seems the end is drawing near for me (due to my current situation), this came to mind, some things I wish I had done, experienced, had before I died.

* Been a husband and father.
* To have been loved, have the love of a wife and my children.
* Known what it was like to wake up every morning knowing I was loved and excepted.
* To wake up every morning and know I had had meaning, purpose, to known I mattered to someone.
* To have had a life like Gorge Muller, a man of great faith, of great prayer, a preacher of the gospel to the nations, to have had 50,000 answered prayers by my last day of life and to have rescued the poor and needy.
* Have God well pleased with me and my life.

It’s not just that I want a wife, but what I really want is a family, my own family, a family that is loving.  To be in a home full of love. Someone whom excepts my love and loves me back. And I fiercely seek children to love, and they love me back. To reproduce from me and my wife’s a being, our bodies, life, from the fruit of our love for one another to instill life into.

The Titanic didn’t sink because of the iceberg-it sank because it wasn’t willing to change course. Was warned 6 times!

How many time in scripture do read of God warning people to change course. And they don’t and reap the consequences.

How may times do we read of God warning the nation of Israel to change course. And they don’t and reap the consequences.

How many times have we heard the warnings from God and others, but did not change course?

How may scriptures are there warning us to change course of else, like:

Matthew 25:1-13 The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins

Matthew 25:14-30 The Parable of the Talents

Matthew 25:31-46 Taking care of the poor and needy

Just a few of the hundreds of verses where God laid out for us two paths, one leads to death the other to life.

We must chose are we going to be like so many of old, like the Titanic and refuse to listen, heed Gods word, God’s warnings and change course. Or plow a head into disaster?

Here’s a look at the year 2010 in review show some of the persecution Christians have undergone in a few countries:

Iraq – In Iraq, Christians have been targeted specifically, and very little is done for their protection. The massive flight of Christians from this country and lack of security for them should have been seen as an early-warning sign that something was very wrong with the overall system.

Malaysia – This country enforced the world’s only religious affirmative action government program that benefits the majority over the minority, guaranteeing Muslims jobs and education over Christians.

Indonesia – Christians have been killed, and many churches have been shut down by local governments, particularly in the Bekasi region. The country also witnessed a steep increase in violence against Christians that was certainly connected to hard-line Islamists calling for violence against the Christian population.

Afghanistan – Christians were imprisoned for conversion, a charge punishable by death. Two Christians remain in jail. This reflects the growing momentum supporting hard-line Islamists and the increasing authority the Taliban is able to wield over Kabul. Christians became a pawn in the political chess game.

Egypt – Coptic Christian women have been abducted and forced to convert to Islam, their cases ignored and often met with aggression and humiliation by the police. A recent suicide bombing of an Alexandria church killed 21. It was in direct response to a call from Al Qaeda declaring all Christians in the Middle East as targets. Egypt has long been a country of double standards, hiding behind the glittering tourist image it presents to the West while it all but forces millions of its citizens (underclass Christians) to make their living sifting through garbage heaps.

India – Perhaps the most “diverse” country in the world, there has been precious little tolerance for Christians. 2010 witnessed hundreds of attacks against Christians, including government programs assuring jobs for underclass Hindus and Buddhists but not for Christians.

As we can see persecution is alive and well in the world, and this is just the tip of the isburg, and as we draw closer to the return of Jesus it will but only get worse.

Remember to pray for Christians who are being persecuted around the world.

I have been using e-Sword bible software ever since it came out in the late 90’s, it is a free and great bible program. And in my opinion as well as other it is as good as the best paid ones.

Well last week I was introduced to a new, old free bible software package called The Word. It turns out that Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa took over the program and remade it with the help of Calvary Chapel Bible college.

Well I have been trying it out the last week, and I am sold, it is great, e-Sword does beat it in some functions. But The Word has some awesome functions that give is a big edge. e-sword has more bible versions and commentaries at this time. But The Word has fare more book that you can load in the book reader. After reading a post about a church planter closing down his ‘church plant” this is what I noticed about it. He stated “We could have continued as a rogue small group or house church in the area, but frankly that has never interested us” Now I not accusing him of this but to me when I read a statement like that, I believe this person was not a true church planter, or they truly just do not know what a church is according to scripture.

First I see he had a church, whether he realize it or not God gave him a flock to shepherd, to feed, a body to disciple, but that appears to be not what he was really after. Greg Louie started with a bible study that went on for years before it moved into a building and became a “church” if you will, but he will argue it was a church when is was only him and a few people gathering at his place, today he has a church of 10,000, but now is 35 year later. And I can name a long list of others whom did the same thing, but they where faithful to what God gave them. (more…)

I blogged about what I got out of the Onething conference regarding prayer on Monday, the Lord has added more to what He is teaching me. Someone I admire very much for his spiritual life and ministry shared about an aspect of prayer that hit home with me, added to my new arsenal of tools for prayer.

Here is some of what Jaeson Ma shared on his blog,

“Waiting upon the Lord has been the secret to my spiritual life. It is what keeps my heart burning with passion for Jesus 24-7.”

He said that someone had told him that, “Waiting upon the Lord, are you hungry for more of God, do you want to be on fire for God 24-7? Then you must learn to wait upon the Lord.” And so he put it into practice in his life. Jaeson went on to say, We need to wait on God by being still, silent, and to daily gaze at God’s beauty for long periods of time, hours, not minutes. (more…)

My car is on the fritz (more on that later) and I had to take it to the shop, my neighbor picked me up from the shop and gave me a ride home.

She begin to share with me she didn’t know how to get through her struggles….she really needed someone to listen to what she was going trough and the burden she was carrying.

Her husband has a type of Emphysema really bad and he is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer on his bladder. He is not doing well at all, the combination of both are pretty much doing him in, he can hardly get out of bed. She pretty much has to do everything for him right now, be there 24/7 for him.

They have a 10 year old daughter, and she shared how she also is not handling it well at all ether. She shared how she is in fear of loosing her husband, and her and her daughter would have no way to make it with out him.

I really did not know what to say to her, I have no life experience to draw from, no words of wisdom to share with her at that moment. So the best I could do at the time was be someone who listened, and let her get things out. So I give her some words of encouragement, and prayed for them.

But I know just being there to listen, encourage and prayer can make the difference to help get them through something, we all need someone to show us love by listening to us, go throw things with us, love on us. And that is what I tried to do, and act of love for a neighbor in need.

I had an amazing day last Thursday at the Onething conference, Mike Bickels afternoon teaching session rocked my soul. One of the things from Mikes teaching that captivated my heart was his stories he shared, he has a life time of awesome stories to share of what God had done in and threw his life. And I want that, I want stories of God to share, new stories everyday of God working in my life, His power, His work, about Him in my life in big ways. I want volumes of stories like Bickle’s to share of God working in and trough my life, stories of His provision, of miracles that I may encourage other believers with, build up their faith with. And to share with believers about the God I serve, His love, provision and reality in my life. (more…)

I was challenged and inspired at the same time by Bickle’s teaching sessions at Onething, amazingly a lot of what Bickle taught on built on the burden and passion for prayer that has been building up in me the last year. Built on what God was already teaching me over the last year on prayer. Gave me the how to have what I have been reading about and jealous after in the lives of men of great faith and pray that I admire, like Gorge Muller, Praying John Hyde and many others.

What I took away was…. (more…)
