About This Project

Located in mid-town Kansas City, the historic Cowntown Ballroom, the 1920’s two story building featuring an roller skating rink on the second floor. In 1971 it reopened as a concert featuring a mix of 70’s musicians including such acts as Riders of the Purple Sage, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Linda Ronstadt, B.B. King, Van Morrison, Frank Zappa and many more. Bridgeport Church bought the building to move from the art district to mid-town, for them it was imperative that the historic and original character be preserved while also allowing for the necessary modernization of the infrastructure and interior finishes for the churches purpose.
