A friend made a comment on a recent post saying “Are you sure you didn’t miss your calling!!” but the fact is we cannot miss our calling from God. This is why God gave us the story of Jonah to show us that we cannot escape God’s calling on our lives, even if you run and try to hide, He will accomplish what He has willed for each of our lives. And you can add in God’s statement in Isa 55:11 “so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” That is to say God’s words over someone when they are born (actual before you are born), what God specks over you, His purpose for you will be done, accomplished, no matter what you do or try to do in life, He will accomplish, use you for His preordained purpose for you, your life. And of course there is Rom 11:29 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” these verses He is even telling us God Himself will not remove, detour from His calling on your life, change His mind about what calling He has placed on your life from the beginning. What He has called you to, will be done. We cannot escape it, and He will not resend it.

So I do not believe according to scripture and the attributes of God that it is possible for someone to “miss” their calling. It has been preordained by God for your life, it is inescapable, just ask Jonah or even Peter, when Peter even messed up and denied knowing Jesus and being a disciple, but God still completed His will despite Paul’s actions, His purpose for Peter was carried out, just as Jesus said it would be accomplished.

So we never have to live a life of regret as to having missed God’s calling on us, for our life, if He has one for us, we will fulfill it, accomplish it. We may try to run and hide from it but like Jonah we will find that is impossible to do.

362718969 40fc6fd0a8Renee Johnson ask for a list of 10 things to overcome loneliness, she is compiling a list of things, this is my list.

1. Spend intimate time with God in prayer and study of the word. This is the most important and fulfilling thing we can do, this should always be the priority of our life, seeking the face of God. Only God can ultimately fulfill us, meet our true needs.

These things below cannot nor are meant to cure loneliness but to rather help us combat it, help us to to keep going forward in life and to better ourselves rather than allow our loneliness to destroy us, reek havoc in our lives, keep us from life.

2. Spend time with your friends. Make an effort to be social and make new friends and hang out with them.

3. Never eat a lone. Arrange to have dinner everyday with someone, a friend, someone from work, school, or church. You could even join a dinner group. Use the time to meet new people, set a goal to have dinner with everyone at your church, the staff and get to know them. (new friends can come out of this.)

4. Join a health club, and actually go. This will also get and keep you in shape, you will feel good about yourself. Exercising also combats depression, it is a major mood enhancer. An instructor-led class is a great loneliness buster for when you really want to be with people but don’t have the emotional energy to talk. Find a club here.

5. Volunteer: Serve others at Habitat for Humanity, a food bank, meals on wheels, a homeless shelter, Big Brothers, do Tutoring, be a Child Advocate. Find a place here. Join a cause you are passionate about, social of political Find a group here. Check with you church and where you can serve others in he body.

6. Take up a sport. Join a softball league or a biking club, ski club, learn karate, and make friends with the other team mates. (this will also keep you in shape, and build self esteem).

7. Take up a hobby or find a new one. Join a theater group, chess club, take up pool, join a cooking group, wine club, a book club, poetry club, or a writers club. Find a hobby here.

8. Take a class of two. Learn new sills, a new language, cooking classes, dance. Even go back to get a second degree.

9. Join a bible study group or prayer group. Even start one in you own home.

10. Never engage in bad or destructive alternatives: Never turn to food, alcohol, drugs or sex to fill the loneliness, nor allow yourself to set in a empty room and sulk, these things will only make things worse and add more serious issues to your life.

Has anyone really figured out the answer to this dilemma? I know I do not have the solution to this dilemma but I do know this, what most people think will end it, seldom if ever does end it, too many purse the wrong thing(s), destructive and harmful things. This is why we must start with God, and our relationship with Him. Seek to be honest with God about our loneliness, and thank Him for revelation of it! And celebrate the need it creates in us that draws us to Him, to His presents! We need to see that there is no way to avoid a relationship with God and find bliss in this life. I think that is a good place to start.

God had a talk with me about re evaluating my position in life, as to wealth and income. Reminding me that that being poor or wealth is relative, all a matter of perspective, ours vs God’s. Did you know that if you work at McDonald’s here in the US that your income is higher that 85% of the population of the world. That is right, the average income for of the world is $2,182, total average person income per person for the world is $5,000. so if you work at McDonald’s ($16,640 min yearly income) you are rich by world income standards. And that 2.7 billion people live on less than $2 a day and that More than 923 million people go to bed hungry; 300 million of them children.

We are so much richer than we think ourselves to be, we think a job is beneath us, pay to low, but yet we are so rich, so blessed compared to most of the world.

Do you have a job, making more than $2,182 a year, you are richer than 85% of the world, make more than $5,000 you are richer than the average person in the world. Praise God for it, be thankful.

Do you have a home to live in, a roof over your head, 1 billion do not have suitable housing (live in cardboard box’s, shacks, tents, est.) and estimated 100 million are totally homeless, sleep in the streets. Praise God that you have a home, a roof over your head, be thankful it doe’s not have to be $500,000 house to be blessed, even a $5,000 is a blessing.

Did you go to bed full, did you eat 3 meals even one today, even if it was off the Windy’s dollar menu. Praise God you ate, be thankful for your daily bread.

Do you own a car, only 1 out of 9 people in the world have a car. So if you have a car, any kind of car, in any kind of shape its in, how old, how much it worth, Praise God 89% of people do not have one, you are in the 11% or the people of the world who have a car. Praise God for it, be thankful for it, and it doe’s not have to be a Lexus to be blessed, having any car puts you in the top 10% in the world, that is a huge blessing.

Do you see how rich you are compared to the world, from where God set looking at the whole pitcher, form His view off life. Remember that the next time you are praying, complaining to God you are not blessed, rich enough, and just maybe you need to change it to praise and thankfulness for what you have.

My end of the month summery:

1. The last month God has been speaking to me about the importance of being an overcomer“.

Several times this month He has brought up the scriptures on it several times from many sources, through my daily study of the word as well as message I heard though out the month. He has been hammering “being an overcomer” I do not know the why, only the take note and learn what He means by being an overcomer and that it is key, important for me.

2. God has also been speaking to me all month about being a man who walks with God

“Enoch walked with God. Noah walked with God” This was the main theme of the month, learning what it means to be a man who walks with God as did Enoch and Noah. This has been at the core of my prayer the last month. To become a man who walks with God, what ever that means, what God wants it to be for me.

Bottom line, Be a man who walks with God as His friend in the same faith that Abraham had.

3. God reformatted my prayer life, gave me a new format to use as to how and what to pray. And it has revolutionized my prayer life the last two weeks. Thus effecting both my walk with God and my attitude in life.  It started by listening to Pastor Perry Noble podcast and a teaching on prayer, it was very challenge, caused me to change my prayer life that week. The Revelation from the Spirit about my prayer life and the need for change was continued, emphazised when I was introduce to Pastor Niles McPherson and started listening to his podcast and listened to his teaching on prayer also. Through those two teachings the Lord caused me to change my prayer life complete, it is on a whole new path now, and that has had a dramatic effect on my attitude and spiritual life, put me on a new course.

4. That I’m still trying to find my place in this world. And I thinking Shouldn’t I know by now what I want to be when I grow up? But it’s bigger than simply what I want to do in the future, It’s also about the right now, today, tomorrow, next week as well as ten years from now. I want to be relevant to God, to impact the world everywhere I intersect with it and maybe even transform it. But I have no clue, not even an inclination of what my place is in life, the world, the church, what my career is to be, or even reason for being here on this planet.

On a lighter note, I started Twittering two weeks ago, and it has been fun and has changed my world in some ways. No really! (I am still trying to get the hang of it) I am linked up with some awsome people and have enjoyed getting into their life and mind, and sharing some of mine with them.

The last 4 months I have gone with a radio in my car (yes on purpose), have been focusing on prayer, meditation on scripture and the Lord instead of the usual mind numbing radio broadcast, keeping my thoughts focused on God that is.  Sometimes using my MP3 player to listen to good bible teaching podcast. And what a difference it has made in transforming my mind, giving me the mind of Christ. I find my thought life taking on a new way of being. Not where I want it to be, totally Christ like, renewed as I want it to be, but it’s well on the way there.

I challenge everyone to do the same thing. Turn off the car radio and spend the time with God, in prayer, worship and meditaion on the word and person of Christ.

God has had me studying and meditating on the phrase “walked with God”, the life of Enoch and Noah, this is what has been on my mind about them.

It is amazing when you think about the fact that Enoch and Noah had no church or church programs to rely on for their relationship with God. No pastors to tell them about God or His word, or give them instructions on how to live. But yet the bible tells us they walked with God. Not even live examples of how to live a holy life, walk with God, or resist sin. But yet although they lived in perverse times, times of great evil, very sinful times. In fact so bad in Noah’s time the world had to be wiped out. And yet Noah walked with God. Like his great Grandfather Enoch, Noah walked with God during a time when others walked away apart God.

If Enoch and Noah could walk in such a perfect and intimate relationship with God that it is said of them, that they walked with God with out none of the helps and support we have today, churches, Christian radio, Christian books, preaching and teaching, and both living and dead examples of how to walk with God. Live a holy life and fight against the temptations of sin all around us. Step by step programs and manual of how to walk with God.

So with all we have today, Should it be more so with us today, be said of all of us if not the majority of us, that we walk with God?
